Sysco, a global leader in distributing food products to a diverse array of businesses, is seeking motivated individuals to join our team as Driver Trainees with a CDL Permit. This position is designed to prepare employees to become skilled CDL Drivers who expertly deliver food products to our esteemed customers in the hospitality and healthcare sectors. The trainee program provides comprehensive on-the-job training encompassing safety procedures, driving skills, and customer service excellence, empowering you to progress to a Driver role upon successful completion of the program and receipt of your CDL. Attend and successfully complete the company-sponsored training program on safe driving practices and company protocols. Assist in loading and unloading goods to ensure that merchandise is handled safely and efficiently. Conduct vehicle checks and report any maintenance or repair needs to ensure the safety and operability of the truck. Follow route and time schedule guidelines to ensure timely deliveries while maintaining communication with dispatch as needed. Adhere to all safety requirements and regulations, including the secure and proper handling of materials and adherence to traffic laws. Provide excellent customer service by effectively interacting with clients during deliveries. Basic knowledge of DOT regulations and safety standards. Strong organizational and time management skills. Effective communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and in a team environment. Capability to perform physical tasks including lifting, carrying, and maneuvering heavy items.
