Job Title: Production Operator Location: Portland, OR Starting
Pay: $22.88/hr (with potential to make $31.38/hr) Shifts: Three
rotating shifts every 6 weeks: days 6:45 am – 3:00 pm, swing 2:45
pm – 11:00 pm, and nights 10:45 PM to 7:00 AM. Additional: $1
differential for hours worked from 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM Who We Are
Looking For: We are currently seeking a Production Operator for our
Portland, OR location. Reporting to the Production Supervisor, this
entry-level, full-time position is responsible for performing tasks
and duties pertaining to manufacturing and processing impregnated
surfaces. The Operator is required to know and perform all assigned
production department functions in compliance with HSE - Health,
Safety and Environmental regulations and Arclin’s policies and
procedures to contribute positively to an efficient and safely run
operation. What You’ll Do: Perform various tasks and monitor
machine centerlines to keep the paper machine running to reduce
downtime and scrap. Operate a sit-down forklift to transfer
finished paper products in pallet or roll form. Package finished
products to protect for transit, print product labels, and transfer
to the warehouse. Collaborate with other departments to meet
production and shipping schedules. Run off-line converter machine
to fill orders for specific customers. Participate in the Joint
Health and Safety Committee to facilitate safety improvements.
Follow all site rules and procedures as they apply to quality,
health, safety, and the environment. Visually monitor processes
within their area of accountability and immediately inform the Lead
Operator of any deviations or abnormalities. Work in close
coordination with the Lead Operator to accomplish tasks needed to
safely and efficiently meet production and maintenance schedules
across all processes. Communicate and confer with the Lead
Operator, as well as with Technical, Supervisory, and Support
Personnel, to resolve process conditions affecting safety,
efficiency, and product quality. Follow machine centerlines at
various sections of the paper machine. New ideas for process
improvements will have the audience of the engineering and
maintenance team. In some cases, will be rewarded with monetary
reward. Perform troubleshooting in the event of process deviations.
To Be Successful, You Will Need: High School Diploma or GED.
Forklift experience is a plus but must be able to become certified.
Capable of driving a Tractor/Tanker unit or being able to learn.
Analytical and mechanical mindset needed to be successful in this
role. Previous chemical/processing experience is a plus. Must be
okay with rotating shifts (days/nights/evenings rotating every
week). Must be okay with following strict Health and Safety
Guidelines and wear required PPE (Personal Protective Equipment).
Ability to sit, stand, walk, and climb frequently working in
elevated areas. Basic computer skills required. Programmable Logic
Control (PLC) Systems experience is a plus. Basic math skills
required, including the use of a calculator. Ability to operate
safely in a manufacturing environment; this may include, but is not
limited to, potentially lifting up to 50 lbs., standing for
extended periods, bending, crouching, stooping, rotating, climbing
stairs, or any combination of the aforementioned, etc. What We
