Sysco, a global leader in food service, is looking for motivated and diligent Driver Trainees with a CDL Permit to join our dedicated fleet. As a Driver Trainee, you will learn under experienced mentors to gain the skills necessary to become a professional driver, contributing to our mission of marketing and distributing quality food and related products. You will be part of a dynamic team ensuring the timely delivery of goods to diverse clients, including restaurants, healthcare facilities, and educational institutions. Attend and successfully complete all required training sessions and classes to obtain a CDL-A license. Assist in loading and unloading of cargo, ensuring safe and secure handling of goods. Shadow experienced drivers to learn proper driving and delivery techniques. Maintain logs of working hours following applicable state and federal regulations. Inspect trucks and identify any maintenance issues to ensure safe operations. Adhere to company operational procedures and DOT regulations at all times. Communicate effectively with team members and customers to ensure a seamless delivery process. Strong adherence to safety and precision. Basic knowledge of DOT regulations and safe driving practices. Capable of handling physical workload involved in loading and unloading cargo. Effective communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to pass a DOT physical and drug test upon commencing training.
