local, family-owned produce distributor that has proudly served our
Pacific Northwest retail, wholesale, and food service customers
since 1977. We are now one of the largest independent produce
distributors in the Northwest with distribution centers in
Portland, Oregon and Seattle (Kent), Washington . Our employees are

successful.” We’re busy and are looking for an experienced and
enthusiastic person to fill a HR Assistant position in our
Portland, OR office. This position is a crucial part of the Human
Resources team, responsible for engaging with both current and
prospective employees to maintain a culture consistent with the
values of our company. You must be passionate about both
performance and culture! What you’ll do… Execute job offers,
pre-employment drug tests, background checks, and I-9 verification
Conduct new hire orientation to ensure a great start for new
employees Partner with employees to create a positive and mutually
beneficial experience Build relationships based on trust and
credibility Assist employees and applicants with HRIS system and
online application process Perform a variety of HR tasks to shape
and represent an experience for both employees and candidates which
is consistent with the organizational and community values of
Pacific Coast Fruit Company What we look for… Associates Degree and
1 years related work experience OR an equivalent combination of
education and experience Bilingual preferred (English/Spanish),
with strong skills in verbal and written communication Experience
working in fast-paced, dynamic environments is a plus Ability to
produce high-quality work, be flexible, and anticipate business
requirements Ability to engage others in a positive and
enthusiastic manner Ability and desire to work as part of a
collaborative team Demonstrated ability to integrate policies,
common sense, judgment, and business needs A great sense of humor
and the ability to view challenges as opportunities, not crises
