Annually, DOE Job Summary Pacific Northern Environmental, LLC
consists of five divisions including Advanced Electrical
Technologies (AET), Taurus Power and Controls (Taurus), Cowlitz
Clean Sweep (CCS), Pacific Northern Environmental Construction
(PNEC), and WasteXpress Environmental (WXE). Together, we
specialize in commercial and petroleum construction, industrial and
commercial electrical, industrial cleaning, and hazardous waste
disposal. PNE LLC is a multi-state organization with operating
offices in Washington, Oregon, Idaho, and Hawaii. In addition, we
carry out projects across the United States. Since 1985, Taurus has
been designing control systems, automating tasks, and fabricating
control panels for industrial, municipal, and commercial
customers-on time and on budget. Taurus is a NETA Accredited
Company that offers full-service, third party, independent testing
for all electrically powered systems and equipment. Being a 24/7
field service company remains at the core of what we do. We have
expertise in a wide array of systems and industries, whether its
servicing projects we developed, or systems built by others. As a
systems integrator, Taurus Controls Group scope of work on a
typical project will include industrial control panel design,
instrumentation selection, preparation of submittal / O&M
documentation, oversight of control panel construction,
PLC/VFD/HMI/SCADA programming, control panel testing, onsite
startup, and customer training. A significant portion of the work
we do as a systems integrator supports the municipal water /
wastewater industry. Education and Experience Qualifications High
school diploma or GED required. Drivers license with the ability to
be insured under the company insurance program. Bachelors degree in
Electrical Engineering, Controls/Automation Engineering, Mechanical
Engineering or a related technical discipline preferred; equivalent
industry experience accepted. 10 years of experience in industrial
automation, controls, or systems integration; municipal
water/wastewater sector strongly preferred Demonstrated experience
designing, developing, and implementing industrial control systems
including PLCs, VFDs, HMIs, SCADA systems, and control panel
layouts Strong working knowledge of instrumentation selection,
panel fabrication, and electrical schematics interpretation and
production 5 years of leadership experience in management or
leadership role within an engineering or controls team. Full
understanding of the role and responsibilities of a systems
integrator within industrial and municipal environments Strong
analytical and problem-solving abilities; adept at resolving
technical challenges during design, construction, and startup
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to guide technical
staff and engage directly with customers, contractors, and
stakeholders Duties and Responsibilities The Engineering Managers
primary responsibility is to ensure that all members of the
engineering group have sufficient instruction, training, and access
to resources to be successful in their roles for the work they are
assigned. The main duties of the Engineering Manager are to review
new projects, assign tasks, answer technical questions, and review
the work of others as part of a collaborative effort to produce
timely and accurate engineering deliverables. Duties and
Responsibilities Include: Group Management Responsibilities: Lead,
mentor, and supervise group members Implement processes and
procedures to improve efficiency Determine the need for and
facilitate training Evaluate performance of group members Interview
/ hire new group members Enforce company policies Determine project
priorities Report group and project status to upper management
Project Specific Responsibilities: Collaborate with Project
Managers throughout the entire project lifecycle Initial review of
new projects Review Sales quote documentation and supporting
details (budget, timeline, etc.) Review contract specifications and
drawings Assess engineering, procurement, manufacturing, testing,
and field work requirements Assign tasks to group members and
assist with follow-up support as needed Panel design and CAD work
Instrumentation selection Submittal / O&M development Material
procurement Panel construction, testing, and shipping Programming,
onsite startup, and training Review or delegate peer review of work
completed by other group members Bill of Materials Instrumentation
selection CAD panel layout and electrical schematics Panel and
Instrumentation Submittal / O&M documents Assist with resolving
issues during construction and startup Attend customer meetings as
needed Coordinate with Project Managers on project billings and
change orders Working Conditions and Physical Requirements The
candidate must possess and be adaptable to the following physical
abilities and working conditions: Move about the jobsite as needed.
Remain in a stationary position for long periods of time. Operate
various technological devices, including but not limited to a
computer. Ability to lift up to 10lbs and perform standard
